1. How can the user contribute to the annotation of a motif?
To eidt a motif, go to the page of the desidered motif and click on the top panel the menu Special:Edit. An editor environment allows the user to edit the descriptive part of a motif, to explain his structural features and putative function. Cross-links to other datbases such as Pfam, PDB, SCOPPI, GO, PubMed, Uniprot and PROSITE, as well as external or internal links can be created by clicking on the icons shown on the top part of the Edit menu. To assign a name to the annotated motif click on the top panel the menu Special:Move and type a motif's name in the field new name, giving, eventually, a reason for the chosen name.

1. Which kind of users are supposed to annotate a given motif?
Database developers and every structural biologist (or bioinformatitian) working on the membrane protein field or performing experiments on a given protein family.
